Who we are
Kweepa Technologies ("we") runs this website. We are the data controller for what is collected on it, under the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya. You can reach us at ops@kweepa.com.
What we collect
When you browse
Our web server keeps the usual access log: the address your request came from, the page asked for, the time, and the name your browser gives itself. We use it to keep the site running and to find faults. The site sets no analytics cookies and loads nothing from third parties: no trackers, no advertising, no fonts or scripts from other companies.
The pages with a form on them, the contact page and the sign-in of the admin area, set one cookie: a random code that shows the site the form sent back is the one it gave out, which keeps other websites from sending forms in your name. It says nothing about you and goes when you close your browser. If you sign in to the admin area, a session cookie keeps you signed in. Your choice of light or dark theme is kept in your browser's own storage, and never sent to us.
When you write to us
The contact form asks for your name and email address, and optionally a phone number and the name of your organisation, together with your message and any documents you attach to it. We also record the address the form was sent from and the page it was on, so that we can tell real messages from automated ones.
Why, and on what basis
We use what you send through the form to answer you, and for nothing else: that is the legitimate interest of a business in replying to the people who write to it, and where you ask for a quote or a demo, a step towards a contract. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not sell or share your details.
How long we keep it
- Messages sent through the contact form, and the documents attached to them
- For as long as the conversation they started is open, and at most two years after the last exchange.
- Server logs
- Ninety days.
- The admin session cookie
- Until you sign out or thirty minutes of inactivity.
Who else sees it
Your message, and any documents with it, are kept on our own servers and read by our staff. If we use a mail service to be told that a message has arrived, the notification passes through it; it names your documents but does not carry them. We do not transfer your details outside Kenya except where such a service is hosted elsewhere, and then under terms that protect them.
Your rights
You may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our using it. Write to ops@kweepa.com and quote the reference you were given, if you have one; we answer within thirty days. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date at the top.
